
Aww man, definitely a deep sigh right now. I was so happy to be part of the Mercury family. My experience there was one of the best experiences on a professional level in my 10 years of playing in the W. But that relationship as far as basketball has come to an end, and I am beyond blessed to have a chance to play in another great city, with another reputable administration. The fans in DC, made some of the most heart breaking experiences of my life bearable, and the X-factor were just absolutely amazing fans and supporters……but all these years…lol…I never imagined playing for those dang “Storm Crazies”, who made every game I have played in the Key arena murder on the ears! Life is funny that way. You go places you never imagined.
I look at a player like Taj MCwilliams- Franklin and I want to call her and say… I want to be like you when I grow up. Her, Tina Thompson, Delisha Milton Jones, Katie Smith, Becky Hammon, Tangela Smith…..I think thats it, all members of the 35+ club. I don’t think anyone can know the mental toll playing this long can take, much less the physical toll. I look at these players, still doing the dang thing, some are mothers, some are wives, some blowing in the wind like me….lol…. and I am just inspired and absolutely grateful for every practice, every quarter, ever min, that I get to spend still doing what I love.
